Chaplain : George Corbett
George Corbett is a native South Carolinian hailing from Clarendon County. He attended Manning High School and graduated in 1966. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and served over 24 years in communication support to army intelligence units. He retired in 1990 with the rank of Master Sergeant. He then started a second career with the Department of Defense as an Intelligence Operations Specialist assigned to HQ, US Army Intelligence and Security Command. He retired from that career in 2004 via an early retirement program. He is very active in several veterans’ organizations, the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Sons of the American Revolution. He is a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a Nobel in the Shrine. He is married to K.J. Proctor-Corbett. He has five grandsons and a granddaughter.
