Hunt is a native of Surry, Virginia, and recently moved to Williamsburg with Mary, his wife of 53 years, after spending 38 years in Florida.  He attended Hampden-Sydney College and spent six years in the Naval Air Reserve.  Hunt spent most of his career in transportation, having founded and operated a regional trucking company.  He was also the founding chairman of a community bank in central Florida and was elected to his local school board.  Hunt currently is an ordained elder at Jamestown Presbyterian Church and enjoys volunteering with Kiwanis and at Grove Christian Outreach and in the lab at Historic Jamestowne.
